It's off to work I go.... for a little while anyway.
A lady I worked with at the law firm has been battling diabetes for a couple of years without much luck. She was recently placed on a very short list to receive a pancreas transplant and I told her that I would fill in for her during her recovery.
Well, I got a call about an hour ago that she is to receive the transplant tonight down in Charleston! Which means that I am going back to work tomorrow.... I have a lot of things to figure out but as for tomorrow, I will take JD and Debby with me to the office and, hopefully, only work a half day. I need to go in and review the files, change voice mail messages, set up email, see what closings are already on the calendar, etc. Once I get through tomorrow I need to sit down and figure out who will keep JD and when. The only hard part about that is that JD has recently decided that he doesn't want to take bottles..... So I need to get him used to taking bottles so he doesn't have to come to the office with me every day. Well, not every day as I'm only planning on going in to the office 3 days a week but it would still be a hassle if he has to come with me because the only way he eats is if I nurse him!
The recovery period is 6-8 weeks and I'm sure I'm going to be an exhausted, babbling idiot for most of those weeks (as JD also refuses to sleep). And I'm sure the blog posts will slow down too... but I promise to post new pics of the little man at least once a week!
