It is amazing how many new things JD does (or tries to do) every single day! He has now taken notice of the cat and Sammy is amazingly tolerant...so far:
One of his newest tricks is taking his binky out. He used to just spit it, but since he's gained more control of his hands he's started actually taking it out of his mouth, looking at it and trying to put it back in. What's even better is that he can sometimes get it back in his mouth all by himself.... makes me want to put him to bed with about 40 binkies so I don't have to walk in there so much!

JD has now decided that he needs to have everything that he sees... case in point: Naked baby trying to get Mommy's martini!

Another one of his favorite new activities is sitting in his Bumbo and playing with toys. He used to just sit and look around but was starting to get bored with that pretty quickly so I bought the toy tray.... now he'll sit there for a long time playing with whatever happens to be in front of him:
Last picture: He loves anything to do with Daddy... here he is sporting Daddy's shades and showing off his two little teeth:

This turned out to be a really long post but I do have a couple of other updates that don't include pictures:
I have not had to go back to the office since Monday. I was under the impression that I would be going in 3 days a week but when I left Monday they said they would call if I was needed. I told them that was fine as long as they gave me at least a day's notice so I could get either Debby or my mom to help with JD. Either way is fine with me but working all day on Monday kind of solidified our decision for me to stay at home with JD. I was exhausted by the end of the day and missed him so much... even though he was pretty much still with me all day. I don't know how working moms do it! I feel so blessed to be able to stay home with him!
JD still has blood in his stool and still has times when he really seems to be in pain. He has been better since we stopped giving him rice cereal but still doesn't poop like a normal baby. I can hear him trying (kind of holding his breath and straining a little) for about 5 or 6 hours before he actually has a bowel movement. I know that's normal for a very young baby but I believe it's supposed to be easier for him by now. I just hope we get some answers in Columbia on November 10!
Lastly, please keep JD's Nana (Dave's mom) in your prayers this week. She is undergoing shoulder surgery on Tuesday. Hopefully this procedure will go smoothly and bring her some much needed relief!
