I'm happiest when I have a plan of action! I just talked to the specialist about JD's tummy troubles. I told him that I find it odd that the latest stool sample tested negative for blood because I saw the blood in the sample that I took to the lab! Here is our plan of action for the next week:
Give JD nothing but Pedialyte for the rest of the day. Tomorrow we start him on Neocate formula for 48 hours. During those 48 hours I am to eliminate all dairy and soy from my diet, pump and discard. He said I have to be very strict with what I eat, that dairy and soy have "hidden" names and I should look those up on the internet and avoid those ingredients too. After 48 hours I can breast feed him again. In a week I'm to take a diaper to my pediatrician's office to be tested for blood. If it is negative (meaning the blood is gone) then he wants to see JD again in a couple of months. If, after a week, there is still blood in his stool we'll have to call him and see what the next step is....
