I feel like such a dunce! I've been waiting for the specialist to call us with lab results for DAYS... he calls tonight and I miss the call!
I was getting dinner started when JD woke from his nap and was crying because he was hungry. Dave was trying to play with him and comfort him for a couple of minutes so I could at least get food into pots and on the stove but JD wouldn't calm down. So I was in a hurry and went to feed him without taking my phone. When it started ringing Dave ran around the house looking for it (it was on the kitchen counter) and by the time he found it the call had already gone to voice mail.
I've been glued to my phone since Thursday! I called the doctor on Thursday and waited... No call. I called again on Monday and was told that they didn't have the results yet. So I called the lab today to see when the results would be ready. They said they faxed results to the doctor's office on Thursday and Friday of last week. So I called the doctor's office again today and told them this. I've gone through so much waiting for this stupid call! The one time I walk away from my phone is when the doctor finally calls!
He did leave the lab results... everything tested normal which means JD doesn't have colitis but that also means we still don't know what's causing the blood in his stool and pain. Doc asked me to call him back to discuss so I called his after-hours number and they said they would have him call me... he didn't. I sure hope he calls tomorrow night (he doesn't make calls during patient hours)... I have a ton of questions for him!
