7 Weeks

Seven weeks have passed since Allison made her debut (okay, so I'm a few days late in getting this posted). She continues to be generous with her smiles and she talks to me more and more each day. She still wakes just twice each night to eat and is pretty good about going back to sleep if she doesn't have gas... then she wiggles around for a good half hour before finding a comfortable spot. Dave and I are so very blessed!

She continues to have tummy problems. Along the same lines as JD's tummy problems when he was little. I've now cut dairy, soy, beef, fish, eggs and nuts from my diet and she continues to have blood in her stool and screaming fits. I thought dealing with JD's screaming fits was hard when he was little. It's 1000 times harder to deal with hers while trying to reassure JD that everything is OK at the same time. He gets so stressed out when she screams like that. Hopefully we'll figure out what the problem is and get her feeling better soon. Both her pediatrician and I want her to continue with breastfeed if at all possible!

She is getting stronger by the second and her favorite thing to do now is "stand". She actually puts all her weight on her legs for a while. I just hold her around her waist for balance. Saturday Allie attended her first party. We went to Sarah's bridal shower. All of the dresses I have for her are too big so we had to settle for a party bow instead of a party dress. The picture above was taken at the shower by Sarah's friend Katie.

After the bridal shower we stayed at my parents house in Pawleys again. JD has so much fun running around down there and both kids sleep well while we're there. It's like a mini vacation for me because I have two extra people there (my mom and dad) to help keep track of the kids! Here are some pictures of our weekend:

And I'll leave you with a picture of JD lovin' on Sammy in honor of Sammy's birthday. My first baby turned 12 on February 28. It's hard to believe she's been with me almost 12 years now (I got her for my birthday in July).... she and I have been through an awful lot together in the past 12 years!
