19 Months!

JD is now 19 months old... I'm a few days late with this post. As you can imagine, we've been a little nutty over here trying to figure out routines and such.

I think JD has finally hit the 24 pound mark. At least that's what our home scale measured when I picked him up and stepped on.

He does all kinds of funny stuff these days. He's learning how to jump and it's hilarious! He squats down and then stands up quickly while grunting. He thinks he's really doing it but his feet rarely leave the floor. And the latest, and I'm not quite sure where he picked this up, he'll say "hmmmm" while putting his index finger to his lips. And he uses it correctly. He'll stand at his toy box, look in and say "hmmm" like he's trying to decide what to play with next.

JD is in a bit of an uncooperative phase right now, which I kind of expected. Getting a baby sister must be kind of tough. He's relying more on his binky, which I'm not fighting too hard right now. One thing I'm very thankful for is that his sleep seems to be unaffected by the baby... even when she cries at night. He is even napping fairly decently, even though he's decided to go from 2 naps to 1, leaving him pretty cranky come bed time!

Because I hate to post without a pic, here is me in all my sleep deprived, unshowered glory (in my defense, it was only 8:30 this morning when I took this picture). This is what my days look like now. Allie refuses to sit on her own and wants to be held all day so I put her in the front carrier. She usually passes out pretty quickly when I'm wearing her. Then JD decides he needs "up" so he can pet the baby on the head (it's amazing how gentle he is with her). Here's hoping that Allie will allow me to put her down sometime in the near future. Right now it's a toss-up between showering, cleaning the house and napping when JD goes down for a nap.... and that's only if I've somehow managed to trick Allie into sleeping somewhere other than on me! I'm sort of ashamed to say that, right now, napping is winning out....
