Sorry to leave you hanging. Allie's eye is much, much better. Pretty much back to normal! She is still on the antibiotics (tomorrow is the last day) and they're giving her diarrhea so she's still not back to being her normal, happy self but we're getting there! We're doing a few new things this week. JD is starting to form sentences all on his own. The other day he said "uh-oh truck broke" which is officially his first sentence. Prior to this he would only repeat two-word phrases that he hears us say. Allie has graduated from rice cereal (which she didn't really care for) to peas... which she loves! Well, she loves them for a little while then lets me know, quite loudly, that's she's all done. She also rolled from her back to her belly for the first time last night! I was completely shocked! JD didn't do this until 6.5 months so I wasn't expecting this until much later! I didn't actually see her do it, she was lying on her back on her play mat in our bedroom. I was watching TV and when I glanced down at her she was on her tummy! I flipped her back to her back, went to get a glass of water and when I came back 30 seconds later she was on her tummy again! She's such a busy girl....
This past Saturday we drove down to my parents' house in Pawleys and spent the night. It was weird because they weren't there! They're in Texas for Kent and Sarah's other wedding reception and asked if we could come down to water the plants. I don't think I've ever stayed in that house without them being there! Anyway, we had a good time. Allie now likes to play with the toys attached to the swing, we went and had dinner with some family at the Log Inn (it was Allie's first time visiting the Log Inn so we got pics) and on Sunday morning we spent a little bit of time at the beach!
These are my cousin Jeremy's girls, Emma and Mary Gray
All the great granddaughters.... Grandma and Grandpa would have loved this!
JD had fun with Emma....
They climbed the old Cedar in the front yard...
Daddy did let go but only for a second!
My cousin Jeremy holding Allie
We were trying to get a picture of the kids. I think they were trying to explain to JD that he needed to sit still for just a second... It didn't work!
A family pic in front of the house in honor of Allie's first visit.
Beach on Sunday morning was beautiful!
One of the antibiotics that Allie is on requires her to stay out of the sun so she was pretty much confined to her car seat while we were there. She refused to lay back and relax, she had to see what was going on!
I finally let her out, but only with her hat!
So that was our weekend. We always enjoy going to Pawleys even if it's just for the night. Someday we'll be able to start building a house on our lot down there... living there again will be great! Now we're back to reality and it's yucky and rainy so we're having to entertain ourselves in the house.... JD found one of Dave's hat and a pair of his glasses lying around so he needed to wear them, of course. I can't believe he actually let me take a picture....
...and when I asked him to take his binky out, this is the face he made... silly kid!
