So, as you read in my quick recap of our weekend, it started snowing on Friday around noon. Boy did it snow! Big fat flakes poured out of the sky and we had a few inches on the ground within just a couple of hours!
JD kept pointing out the car window saying "snow".... he liked it but didn't like touching it as we didn't have any gloves! It was Allie's first snow and JD's first "real" snow. We had a flurry here at the beach last year but I'm not sure if that really counts. His cousin Josh made him his first snowball and I'm not sure JD knew what to think of it!
After the fire station visit we drove back to TN and it was kind of a hairy trip. My dad was driving my Sequoia, which has traction control but not four wheel drive. The interstate was at a crawl and the snow came down so quickly that school buses were stuck on the roads, waiting for salt trucks even though school let out at 1:00 PM that day!But we made it. It took us three times as long to get there as it normally does. Thank goodness both kids slept the whole way. I don't think my dad would have liked driving in that mess with screaming babies in the back seats!
When we got home I bundled JD up and attempted to make a snowman with him. I stacked the second ball on top of the first... JD promptly knocked it off and started crying. He was too tired to care anything about it! So we tried again the next morning and had more success.
