Allison is six weeks old today. I can't believe it! Neither can my doctor. I went for my six week postpartum checkup on Tuesday and heard her outside my door talking to the nurse: "Why is Kristy here?" Nurse says "It's her six week visit." Doctor says "You're kidding me! Already?"
So I had a good checkup and all is healed. I have 15 pounds to lose and I'll be back to my
pre-pregnancy weight.... which is exactly how many pounds I had left at my postpartum checkup after I had JD. I was able to get into some regular pants yesterday too. They were a little snug but at least they zipped!
Allison is doing well. More aware of her surroundings every day. She smiles and coos quite a bit when you engage her and she sleeps well, even though she's still sleeping in her car seat and swing. My new "project" is to get her used to sleeping in her pack-n-play. It's not going so well. I'll put her in there during the day for her naps and she'll stay for about 20 minutes before she's screaming again. But if I put her in her swing she drifts off all by herself. For right now I'm taking the easy road. When I get a little more used to my sleep schedule I'll have the energy and persistence to get her to lay flat. Speaking of sleeping, she's pretty good at that during the night too. She wakes to eat around 1:00 AM and 4:00 AM. After the 4:00 feeding she usually spends a good deal of time squirming around trying to pass gas. We usually get back to sleep around 5:30 and then JD wakes at 6:00 if he hasn't already called out for me. So my days basically start around 4:00 AM these days.

JD is doing a little better with his sleeping. The past couple of days he's taken semi-decent naps without crying and slept until at least 6:00 AM. This morning he woke up at 4:30 AM while I was nursing Allie but I was able to get him to go back to sleep around 5:00 and he slept until 6:00. He continues to crack us up... even unintentionally. My mom came over on Tuesday and brought him some Gerber Puffs. They're in the shape of little stars and JD loves them. On Wednesday he was sitting in his high chair eating them as a snack. When I noticed he was throwing them on the floor I got him out of his chair and went to the garage to get the broom. When I came back he had them stuck all over his butt. My little star-studded buddy had fifteen of them stuck to him!

I couldn't help but laugh. And he had no idea that they were there! And here's one last picture. JD is learning bad things from his Daddy.... like how to sit on top of the headboard in our room and dive off onto the bed. No wonder he has bruises all over!
