The Fourth of July has always been one of my favorite holidays. As a child we always spent the holiday at my grandparents house on Pawleys Island, the Log Inn. We would walk down the road with our beach chairs and sit on the side of the road and watch the parade. After the parade we would head back to the Log Inn where Grandpa would be firing up the grill, getting ready to barbecue some ribs. Man! Grandpa made some good ribs!
This year, JD started his day with a red, white and blue breakfast and then took a quick nap.

After his nap, Dave and I drove down to Pawleys with JD, parked at the Log Inn and walked down the road with our cooler and beach chairs. We found a shady spot, the same spot we sat in last year as luck would have it, and enjoyed the parade. JD had fun watching everybody walking around, listening to the music and seeing kids dancing around in the backs of pickup trucks decorated in red, white and blue.
Just for fun, here is JD last year on the 4th of July... sitting on the side of the road waiting for the parade to begin. He was only 3 weeks old. What a difference a year makes! I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th!!!
