I had my doctor's appointment today and all is great! My blood pressure is good, the baby's heartbeat sounded good and I've gained a whopping 3 pounds.
I stopped into the lab on my way out and had some blood drawn for the quad screen test (the blood test that screens for Downs Syndrome and neural tube defects) but won't get results for at least another week.... I'll certainly be on the edge of my seat until then!
The best part? I set the date for our "big" ultrasound. The doctors call it an anatomy scan. They'll check the baby's heart, lungs, kidneys, bladder, brain, etc, etc.... I'm mostly excited about the prospect of finding out whether we'll have another boy or if this one will be a girl! Let's hope Baby is in a cooperative mood! The appointment is set for August 24, 2009.
