What a week!

We seriously had one busy week so I'll try to break this post down into sections....

First, here are a couple more pictures of JD in his "cake smash" attire from his birthday party. The first one is a good shot of his cute hat that Sarah was able to snap. The second one shows the back of his shorts... so adorable!

You'll be happy to know that we got our air conditioner fixed first thing Monday morning. Which is a good thing because it was HOT, HOT, HOT here this week. I'm talkin' mid 90's with heat indexes in the 100's! Way too hot for June!

So Tuesday JD and I drove down to Pawleys to spend the day with my brother, Merv, and his family who came in to town from Georgia for JD's party. We spent some time on the beach but it wasn't a very good beach day and then the whole family gathered at the Log Inn for Lowcountry Boil... yummy! Here are a couple of beach pictures from Tuesday!

Okay guys, I'm loaded and ready to go to the beach!!
Here, Uncle Merv, let me help you with that sand castle....
Swimming with Mommy sure is fun!!
Story time with Daddy before dinner.
Hanging out with Grandma while Mommy gets to eat...
Wednesday we took a break and stayed home.... but still went swimming in the back yard! JD broke in his new baby pool (a birthday present from Mommy and Daddy) and loved it!

Thursday we drove down to Pawleys again for dinner at Uncle Kent and Sarah's house. They made fajitas, which were awesome! It was an eventful evening and everyone had a ton of fun. The evening included....

Playing with Cousin Josh (which basically means JD grabbed hold of Josh's fingers and led him all over the house)....
"Wrestling" with Daddy on the living room floor....
A walk around the block with Uncle Merv and Aunt Angie....
And stroller jumps off of the concrete patio into the yard!
Here are Uncle Kent and Sarah manning the grill
THANKS UNCLE MERV AND AUNT ANGIE FOR COMING TO SEE ME!!!

The rest of the week was basically filled with requests to go out in the garage and visit the vacuum. JD has some sort of obsession. He has to visit the vacuum at least 5 or 6 times a day. So, I finally got smart and put the vacuum in the living room so he could see it whenever he wanted to. I don't know what this obsession is but it's quite funny!

This week should be a little calmer. My brother and his family headed back to Georgia on Friday but my cousin from Tennessee and her family arrived this evening. They, too, will stay at the Log Inn. JD and I will drive down tomorrow for a beach day. My cousin has a little boy who is two and a half so I think he and JD will have fun playing together on the beach!

Also, I can't end this post without saying HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to Dave.... he's such an awesome father. JD absolutely adores his Daddy. So much that he squeals every time Dave walks in the door from work. We had an awesome evening. I made a huge pot of chicken pirleau and my parents and Kent and Sarah came up for dinner. JD got Dave a new picture for his desk and some shells from the beach. Actually, JD picked up one of the shells, handed it to me and said Dada... when Dave wasn't even there. So I was able to tell Dave that JD picked out his present all by himself! He also colored a picture with Crayons for his Daddy. It was his first work of art... which will go in the baby book, of course! I'll have a couple of pictures to post later.....
