Whew! This summer sure has started out as a busy one! This week we went to the beach in Pawleys again on Monday, my mom had a fairly routine surgery so I went and visited her at the hospital on Wednesday evening (leaving JD with Dave) - she's home now and recovering well, Friday night JD had his very first date with Kendall and tonight we had some friends over for burgers on the grill.... here are some pictures from our week!
Monday: My cousin Beth and her family visited from Tennessee. Her youngest is 2.5 years old and JD had a ball playing with him on the beach!
Friday: Awwwww.... JD's first date! My very good friend Liz and her husband met us for dinner at a kid friendly restaurant near our house for dinner. JD and Kendall were so darn cute talking to each other at the table. After dinner they came over to the house for a little while and JD and Kendall played.
Sunday (today): Jimmy and Becky used to live across the street from us. They moved to NY last fall and we've missed them and their 3 boys very much. Becky still has family in the area and they still own the house across the street (they're renting it out now) so they are in town visiting this week. Of course we had to have them over for burgers... I just can't believe how big their boys are now! They enjoyed wagon rides in the back yard, "fishing" in the pond behind our house and, after dinner, the 3 smallest ones fought over the vacuum!
Lastly, JD's newest word is "balloon" which comes out as "boon" and he started standing up without help this week. Up until now he would have to hold on to something to stand up from a sitting position. He's also getting faster and faster.... Mommy has been running like crazy to keep up with him lately! I realized tonight that I haven't put a video of him walking on the blog yet so.... here it is! I think this also shows him standing up on his own!
