Almost there...

We're almost there... getting dangerously close to his first birthday. Less than a week to go! I have all the party plans in order and I think it will be a lot of fun. I wanted to keep it low-key so we decided to invite only family and close friends who have kids around JD's age.

As we get closer to birthday #1 I am surprised daily by the things JD does. He figures so many things out! If I tell him to give his binky to Daddy he takes it out of his mouth and hands it to Dave!

Today he found an empty Cool Whip container sitting on the table. He wanted it so I put it on the living room floor. As I watched him playing with it I realized her was trying to put the lid on it. A few minutes later he succeeded! Sure he stuffed the lid into the container several times but he knew that wasn't right and just kept trying until he got it. Then he took it off and put it back on repeatedly for about a half an hour. He did this a few times throughout the day. If I would have known that a Cool Whip container with the lid would keep him that occupied I wouldn't have bought so many toys!
