Nana & Poppy week!

Yet another busy week here at our house! On Monday evening, Nana and Poppy (Dave's parents) arrived from PA just in time for dinner! They came bearing gifts in the form of a zucchini that they grew in their garden... have you ever seen two that grew together like this? Unusual and yummy!
Tuesday morning Dave and his dad went shopping in search of matching outfits for the Father & Son golf tournament that they were playing in later in the week. Nanny hung out with us at the house and I enjoyed a kid-free trip to the grocery store.

Wednesday was semi-calm but we were busy again on Thursday. That was the first day of the tournament so Nana and I took the kids to run some errands and to Target! Part of Dave and Poppy's "gift pack" for playing in the tournament was a gift card to Martin's Golf and Tennis. Dave, being the stupendous husband that he is, bought me a couple of shirts, a pair of shorts and a beach hat with it! A couple of items didn't fit right so I had to go exchange them....

When Nana and I got home both kids napped and, later in the afternoon, the boys came home... aren't they cute dressed alike?
Friday held another stifling hot day of golf for the boys and Nana and I just hung out at the house with the kiddos.

Saturday was the final round of golf. Nana and I had fun at the Farmer's Market with the kids and then hung out at the house until the guys came home. Here they are dressed alike again!
We did do things other than golf and shopping, though. Allie practiced her crawling. She scoots all over and is getting fast, but she's also getting up on all fours and rocking! She also got her first bloody lip on Saturday night. She was trying to get from sitting to crawling position and her foot got stuck. She she got her foot unstuck she face-planted into the wood floor. Her bottom teeth cut her top lip, but not bad. We gave her a "freezie pop" (frozen blueberries and watermelon in a mesh feeder) and she was A-OK.
JD had a bit of a rough week, though. Unfortunately he chose last week to have a separation anxiety or something. During the day he was fine but if he got hungry or tired he would cling to me and pitch an absolute fit if I left the room, even to go to the bathroom! I'm talking, tears, screaming, wouldn't let anybody touch him fit! I shipped him off to my parents house today and he seems to be doing okay, so hopefully this phase is history!

Here are a few more pictures from the week.... and a video. Nana had little Allie laughing so hard she was squealing like a pig!

After cleaning up their toys, Poppy and JD had a bedtime snack every night in the form of a cookie!
Nana introduced JD to the iPad
Being cute during breakfast... perhaps because he dumped his bowl and was trying to get out of cleaning it up??
Not the greatest picture of either of them but the most recent one I have of them together... JD said "JD net-nid" (naked) when he sees this pic... he does have shorts on though.
Allie was introduced to a big girl cup.... big boy cup to JD or, as he calls it, a bo boy cup.
I love his picture! No, she isn't pulling up yet. We put her there but she loves it and is now trying to stand in her crib... because of that, we lowered her crib mattress a couple of days ago.  :-(
Bath time fun!!
JD still loves his ducky towel. He calls it Super Ducky and runs through the house after his baths!
Allie spent a lot of time talking to Nana this week... and she had lots to say!
And, here's the video I promised:
