We've been so busy this week I'm kind of glad to have a "do nothing" day today... well, nothing but the grocery store! Monday morning we met Peyton and Walker (and their mommies) at the beach for a little while. It was my first time taking the kids to the beach by myself and I felt like a pack mule! I had a huge duffel bag across my chest, my beach chair with Allie's collapsible tent folded up into it on my back (you can wear it like a backpack), Allie in my left arm and JD holding my right hand! We could only stay about an hour because Allie was getting hot and tired but I consider it a success. I was even able to actually sit in my chair a little bit and chat with the girls while I held Allie and JD played nicely in the sand nearby!
After the beach we went home to meet the exterminator for our quarterly pest control treatment, the kids took naps and then we headed back down to Pawleys for a cookout at Kent's house. We had a ton of fun hanging out with my family and the kids were exhausted by the time we left to go home. Dave drove down separately because he wanted to drive the Porsche... which was a big hit. The adults enjoyed driving and the kids enjoyed riding!
Tuesday was an even busier day! My mom and Angie met me at the house around 9:00 and we headed to Wild Wing where Dave, Kent, Merv, Brad, Josh and my dad were playing golf. When we got there we grabbed golf carts and headed out on the course to say hello and get a few (okay, a lot) of pictures.
After playing on the golf course we headed to the pool. JD had fun jumping off the edge and Angie enjoyed floating.... but she did her fair share of kid chasing too! After the pool we had lunch with the guys at the clubhouse and finally got home and got the kids down for a nap around 2:30! WHEW! I'm exhausted!
Tomorrow promises to be another busy day. We're meeting my photographer, Gene Ho, at Huntington Beach at 9:30 AM for family photos at Atalaya and on the beach. After that Dave will go to work and I'll go to my mom's house to hang out for the day. I'm super excited, though, because my friend Kristi is in town and she's coming over with her daughter, who is just about a week younger than Allie! We've been dying for Eliza and Allie to meet and tomorrow's the day!
