Happy Half Birthday, Allison!

Yesterday Allie turned 6 months old... can you believe it? It seriously does not seem like 6 months have passed since she was born. In another blink of the eye we'll be blowing out a single birthday candle!

We spent the day down in Pawleys doing some very fun stuff. We met Gene Ho, my wedding photographer, down at Huntington Beach State Park for family photos. It was lots of fun and I even had him take photos of Allie and JD for their 6 month and 2 year photos. I was planning to take them to JC Penny this week anyway so it worked out perfectly. I can't wait to see the proofs in a couple of weeks!

After photos we went back to my parents' house and put the kids down for naps. Later in the afternoon, my friend Kristi came over with her daughter, Eliza. Eliza was born just 5 days after Allie but they live about 3 hours away so this was the first time that Allie and Eliza met. I think these two will have so much fun on the beach in the years to come!
Today I sent JD back down to my parents' house so I could take Allie for her six month immunizations. She now weighs 14 pounds, 3 ounces (20th percentile), is 25 1/4 inches long (44th percentile) and her head circumference is 16 7/8 inches (about the 50th percentile). She's still gaining slowly but is staying on her curve. I was expecting a larger weight gain because she is putting down fruits and veggies now like they're nothing. Most days she eats solids three times a day and there's nothing she doesn't like.

Allie continues to be our happy, sweet, smiling little munchkin. She's still sleeping about 11 hours each night and taking 3 naps per day. Luckily, her mid-day nap usually coincides with JD's nap so I get a few minutes to catch up on email or write blog posts or work on the permanent mountain of laundry that always seems to accumulate in my bedroom! She absolutely adores JD and always smiles and laughs when he pays attention to her. She is a pro at sitting up now and gets pissed when you try to lay her on her back. When she's on her tummy she tries to get her knees under her and I've caught her bridged up with her tummy off the floor a couple of times.... the girl is already trying to crawl! Even though she's not crawling, she gets to where she wants to be by scooting and spinning. She's resourceful!

Tomorrow we're headed back down to Pawleys again. We have a lot down there near my parents house that we're going to build on some day.... Dave wants to walk the lot again and start marking the trees that we want to keep. We'll have to pull out the bug spray!
