Thanksgiving 2011, Part 2

So Allie had us up at 4:00 AM on Friday morning. JD slept a little later because he was awake so much during the night. I was a walking zombie but at least it was later than we woke the previous morning! I just barely made it to 7:00 AM when the hotel served coffee in the lounge.....

After I was able to have coffee and somewhat keep my eyes open, we all headed out to the field house at Williams College. There was no set agenda, just lots of balls to kick around and stomp rockets to launch. The kids had an absolute ball and it was exactly what they needed after they were made to sit still pretty much all day on Thursday.

As I stated in my previous post about my grandmother, I was unable to stop thinking about the fact that her memorial service was happening in Tennessee while I was at that gym. I did a horrible job of holding back tears but Dave's family is very compassionate and understood completely.

When I felt better I pulled out the camera. The lighting was very low and the space was so big that even using the flash (which I absolutely hate to do and usually avoid at all costs) didn't help much. So, a lot of these pictures are pretty grainy....
Outside of the field house. It was a very cool building
Play Ball!
Allie had fun with the ride on toys ...
She was very happy to see Poppy arrive. She left her beloved ride on toy to go give Poppy a hug!
I wasn't going to include this one because it's out of focus but Dave loves it so here it is! My little monkey playing on the bleachers
Somehow JD roped Uncle Mike into towing him around the gym....
Thankfully, the kids took a nap on Friday. When they woke we hung out for a little while and then got dressed and went to a fantastic mexican restaurant. We had our own room with a big open space and the kids had fun running around and playing ring around the rosie.
This is Kate. Kate was a big hit all weekend. JD stuck to her like glue!
Deb and Dave. We miss Deb....
Dave and his mom (a.k.a., Nanny)
Goofballs...
This picture makes me smile every time I see it. I love my kids!
They went to bed fairly easily and slept pretty good. I went to bed with them just so they would actually lie down and go to sleep. Dave went and hung out with his family again. I was so happy that he got to spend so much "adult" time with them. I would have liked to spend more time with them myself but I was pretty worn out at that point so I was all too happy to go to bed with the kids!

That's all the energy I have for this evening. I'll post details (and lots of pictures, of course) of Saturday and Sunday tomorrow (or maybe Wednesday...)
