House progress

I update Facebook regularly with regards to the house progress because it's so easy to do so. Unfortunately, that means the blog gets neglected with it comes to that subject.

We've come a long way! Here are some pictures:

Drywall went up and was finished before Thanksgiving

Permanent stairs arrived and were installed

Dave built the first fire in the new fireplace (the one on the ground floor)

Panels and tank were installed for the solar hot water system

The "almost finished" front of the house. All that's missing is the porch and stair railings...and landscaping, of course

White oak wood floors have been installed. They'll come back to sand and finish them next month

THE BEST PART! The cabinets have been installed... I spent months going over door styles, wood types, finishes, etc. I am SO happy with the end result!

What a difference a coat or primer makes! I was there today and they were painting the ceilings and trim. I believe they'll start on the walls soon!

My real reason for going down today? Appliance delivery!!! They are gorgeous and I cannot wait to use them! They'll have to be stored until the floor is finished but we needed the wall oven so the cabinet guy could cut the cabinet to fit the oven properly....
