Marching right along!

Oh my goodness how time flies. The kiddos are getting SO big! They are doing so many new things these days, there's no way I'll remember all of it but I'll try to list as many as I can think of!

- Allie is talking up a storm. She's even putting two words together! The other day she grabbed her sippy cup and said "my baba". The day after that she bumped her head on a small table. I said "uh oh! Did you bonk your head on that table?" to which she replied "bonk table" as she patted her head! The day after that she said "bye bye Papaw" to my dad! It really is amazing to me that she's talking so much these days!

- JD got sent home from day care on Friday (I call it school) with a letter stating that he's ready to move up to the three year old class.  I was both excited and sad at the same time. His sweet teacher, Miss Mary, gave me the letter with a pout. He's become so attached to her, they call him her little buddy. I know he'll miss her but his new room is right next door so I think he'll still get to see her every day. When we talk about it he tells me "No. I just going to keep going to school"....

- Allie now tries to jump. It's the funniest thing ever. She bends her little legs and shoots up... but her feet don't leave the ground. She totally thinks she's doing it, though, and is SO proud of herself! She has also figured out how to play my dad's harmonica.

- JD says stuff every day that amazes me. He uses words like "disappeared" "purring" and says things like "Mommy, I have a question" before he asks me something and  "That's correct" when he asks me a question and likes my answer. All things that neither Dave nor I have actively taught him. I guess he's just picking these things up here and there. He really enjoys spending time "working" with Daddy out in the woods. They eat lots of Cheetos. One day they ran out of Cheetos and Dave gave him Doritos. JD called them Cheedodies! Funniest thing ever! He's also become very sweet lately. He'll walk up to me out of the blue and say "Mommy, I just love you so much. I gonna take care of you!" It just melts my heart every time! He will also tell Dave "Daddy, I been missing you!" when he comes back from a couple of nights away (he spends the night at my parents house every now and then when working out on the lot).

- Allie is starting to let her little personality show a bit. She throws tantrums (like lately when we try to take her out of the ocean because her lips are purple -the water is still a bit chilly this time of year) but she'll also say "uh-uh" and run from you if you tell her to do something that she doesn't want to do. It's so cute! But it's also rare (which is probably why I still think it's cute). She's mostly pretty good about doing what I tell her to do.

- JD shocked me big time the other day when he used deductive reasoning. He was talking about Cody (my brother Kent's dog) so I asked him who Cody belonged to. JD responded with "Unk Kent". So I said "so where do you think Cody lives?"... JD said "Unk Kent's house!" Usually he would answer a question like with with a shrug and an "I don't know!"

- Allie has discovered the joys of spending time outside. When she decides she's ready to go outside she gets her shoes from beside the front door and brings them to me. If I tell her we can't go out right then, a tantrum of epic proportions follows. And forget trying to sneak out the front door to get the mail, take out the trash, get something out of your car. She MUST go with you and if you don't let her she cries at the door until you come back in and distract her with something else.

These are just a few examples of how my babies aren't really babies anymore. As I sit here watching him put his train tracks together, I'm finding it VERY hard to believe that JD will be THREE YEARS OLD in just a couple of weeks. That's just CRAZY!

Until then, here are a handfull of pics that I took the other day at Huntington Beach State Park. We met with the Myrtle Beach Porsche Group for a picnic and I wasn't expecting the kids to go swimming.... especially in their clothes! Good thing we had just spent the weekend at my parents house and I had extra clothes in the car!
